Welcome to Desi Dosa Madras.

Desi Dosa Madras is the result of Pathmaraj Prasad’s passion and desire for opening a South Indian restaurant in the Lower Mainland that serves nothing but genuine, authentic South Indian cuisine to its patrons. Pathmaraj was born and raised in Sri Lanka and his ancestry originated from Tamil Nadu, Madras. Very early in his life, he recognized his passion for cooking and serving others delicious food items. With the help and support of his family, Pathmaraj is living his life -long dream.

While South Indian foods are common today and are available at many restaurants in every major city, they are mostly made by chefs who are unfamiliar with the true art of South Asian cooking unlike our qualified cooking staff. Dosa originates in the southern Indian state of Madras (now known as Chennai) and our chefs at Desi Dosa Madras have been brought here to serve genuine South Indian dishes. We aspire to ensure that all our meals are classified as authentic South Indian cuisine and strive to bring flavours that tantalize the Western tastebuds.

We bring the taste of authentic, home-cooked style South Indian food to our customers, right here in beautiful British Columbia. Desi Dosa Chef’s Our gourmet chefs hail all the way from Chettinad, India which is located in the southern part of India. Chettinad cuisine is one of the most aromatic. All of our sauces and curries are made by our prized chefs on the premises.

The chefs at Desi Dosa Madras have all completed their hotel management and catering technology in India before joining our family restaurant. Our star chef has worked at 5 star hotels located in India, Singapore, and Malaysia and specializes not only in Indian, but in Singaporean and Malay dishes. As far as dosa varieties are concerned, we can cook up 26 different flavours from A-Z! We maintain the highest standard of cooking, service, and hygiene. Our food is made with the finest quality ingredients, our kitchen and venue are spotless and our service is always delivered with a smile.
